Andy Kirwan joins #PlasticFreeMersey Litter Pick
Ener-Vate's Senior Consultant Andy Kirwan recently joined colleagues from Peel L&P for a #PlasticFreeMersey litter pick at the Mersey River in Warrington.
The #PlasticFreeMersey project is a flagship collaborative approach created to tackle plastic pollution in the Mersey River catchment in North-West England.
The event was organised by Peel L&P’s Sustainability Manager Lois Kay and #MerseyRiverTrust, a charity working in partnership with those interested in improving local rivers and waterways.
Andy said “The River Mersey has been recently identified as a microplastic litter hotspot in the UK so it was great to be involved in such an important event. We collected over 10 bags of rubbish which included water bottles, cans, plastic bags and even some old boxers! Thanks to the team at Mersey River Trust and Lois for organising."
