The Project
Paddington Village is a £1 billion flagship expansion site sitting at the eastern gateway of Liverpool within the city centre’s Knowledge Quarter and has been earmarked for 1.8m sq ft of science, technology, education, health space as well as residential units that will create a destination of choice for primarily research, education, health and science related business and institutions.
Liverpool City Council took the decision to install a District Heating scheme to the development in order to meet the carbon reduction requirements of the area. Ener-vate have acted as primary commercial consultant to the council and have developed a detailed commercial model for the development. As well as heat delivery, Private Wire connections will be made to several of the plot developers.
Ener-vate have worked alongside the project management team, the design and build team, the legal team as well as the internal council financial and development teams and co-ordinated the differing areas to ensure financial security of the scheme.
This included detailed development of the contract suite for the scheme and customer supply agreements for heat and power to clients and landlords.
Operationally, Ener-vate continue to work alongside Liverpool City Council to manage the contracts on site now that the scheme is occupied with initial tenants.
We will continue to develop the commercial aspects of the scheme as new plots become available and developed.
Ener-Vate also are part of the team that is developing the longer term strategy of decarbonising the scheme in the future alongside technical and environmental teams.
