Ener-Vate announces involvement in Mersey Heat Network Project

Ener-Vate are proud to announce their involvement as District Heating Consultants in the Mersey Heat Network Project at Peel L&P’s Liverpool Waters development. Liverpool Waters is one of the largest regeneration projects within Europe, creating a new mixed-use city district along 2.3km of the historic Liverpool waterfront.

Steve Marsh, Operations Director for Ener-Vate said “We have an established working relationship with Peel Energy, the entity behind the Mersey Heat ESCo. Over the past few years, we have supported Peel Energy in developing, procuring and delivering many projects with our commercial and industry expertise within the sector. The Mersey Heat Network Project is one we are particularly proud of given the scale, complexity and challenges of delivering major infrastructure within a dockland environment. We look forward to continuing our role as a key member of the Mersey Heat team and support the management of the delivery of this initial phase with Vital Energi”

The initial phased delivery of the network will see 1,700m of underground district heating pipes used to deliver approximately 11 gigawatt hours of low carbon heat. Ultimately, the scheme has been designed to enable expansion to supply the entire development plans for up to 9,000 homes and 4 million square feet of commercial space within the Princes Dock, Central Docks and Collingwood Dock areas.
